Now that most of us have experienced horrific winter weather, it's time to start to shifting our focus to all things spring. In Georgia, we've had NON-STOP rain, 20 degrees one day, 70 degrees the next... the cycle continues.
Luckily, #hobbylobby brightened my Saturday when I went to look at "just a few things" and found a giant assortment of faux flowers at 50% off, spring decor with pretty cursive fonts and bright colors, and tons of item in their Spring Shop. My husband and I are both high school teachers, so staying on a budget is super important. I love following designer brands as much as y'all, but let's be honest - I have bills, a baby, and more bills. That doesn't leave a lot of space for designer decor.
Back to Hobby Lobby, I found the cutest floral napkin rings in the Spring Shop for 40% off. There were a ton of options to pick from. I picked up the white hydrangea option (my favorite flower) first, but I decided that I would go with something that had a lower profile to fit the theme of my table. I got six of the lavender rings for $2.99 each - $1.79 on sale! I also liked that I could lay that particular style in different ways - the other floral rings had more of a ring shape where they would not lay flat. I'll share those ideas below.
Other options: Magnolia Napkin Rings & Succulent Napkin Rings
Option #1 - traditional use for a napkin ring.
Option #2 - lay flat on a rectangular napkin (I know I need to iron the napkin....)
Now for the easy centerpiece, I already had a wooden tray from #pier1 and wire basket from AtHome Stores. I decided to use a few things that I had around the house and layer the two to create a cheap Easter display. I found the cute bunny at a store in Flowery Branch, Georgia called Consign & Design Interiors. (Side note - the store is very unique in that they house a number of vendors who make and/or find things to sell! Tons of farmhouse style decor. )
I picked up a $4.99 bag of moss when I was at Hobby Lobby to create my layered centerpiece. I decided to get the bag with two different colors to pull in the other neutral decor on my table. I spread one color on the bottom of the tray first and layered the second color on top. Then, I put the wire basket on top and pulled the moss out to show around the edge of the wire basket. Ta-da! It's that easy! and cheap!
Finished Product!
Try to find things around your house that you can use instead of buying new decor for every season. You can always spray paint if it's not the right color! The only thing I purchased for my Easter table was the green bunny ($14.99) and moss at ($4.99) - $19.98 total! Not bad!
Thank you so much for checking out my first blog post! I'm not sure how often I'll be able to post (since I do have a full-time job...) BUT I hope to share again soon! I have a major passion for sharing decor and good deals!
